Congratulations to the Viking Wrestling team who entered the two-day district tournament with twenty and will move 11 to Regionals next weekend at Todd Beamer High School (Federal Way).
The Vikings had an outstanding tournament which included the following placers:
- Runner-ups: Rob Zsigmondovics (130), Jake Lowe (171), & Travis Bogard (285)
- Third placers: Brian Trabun (130), Anthony Bratcher (135), & Sam Gastineau (152).
- Fourth placer: Dain Byquist (171), Yuji Pearce (189), & Tim Koukal (215)
- Fifth place: Devin Gniot (160) & Ben Carson (189)
- Alternates: Shane Merrill (112), Ryan Rinaldi (135), Wyatt Moore (145)
Jake Lowe (2:38 pin & 18-3 tech) and Travis Bogard (pins: 23 & 27 seconds) easily made their way to the finals but did not wrestle and injury defaulted to get ready for next week.
Both have been coming back off of injuries and while looking strong in two earlier matches, they want to be stronger and prepared for the state qualifier next week.

Next Saturday, the KingCo League competes against the South Puget Sound League in the 4A Region II tournament at Todd Beamer High School in Federal Way. The top 5 placers from KingCo compete against the top-4 finishers from SPSL, with the top 4 wrestlers qualifying for the State Tournament.
